Lu Mingfei is an aimless student whose only remarkable skill seems to be playing StarCraft until he receives an unexpected scholarship to the elite Cassell College. There he learns that dragons are real, many students are hybrids carrying dragon bloo…d, and the academy trains them to hunt their own kind; as Lu tries to find his place, he is drawn into an ancient war connected to his own origins.

I'd recommend it for its dragons, its secret academy and Lu Mingfei's jump from a gray life to a war that was in his blood.
It's a good fit if you're looking for modern action, family secrets, and students trained to hunt legendary creatures.
What sets it apart from other fantasy academies is that Cassell poses as an elite university while secretly preparing its students for a war against dragons.
