Lord Daigo Kagemitsu offers his unborn child to twelve demons in exchange for prosperity, and the baby is born without limbs, eyes, skin, or other organs. Years later, Hyakkimaru travels the country with prosthetics and hidden weapons, recovering par…t of his body for every demon he kills; the orphan Dororo joins him as they learn that restoring Hyakkimaru may doom the domain that prospered from his sacrifice.

I'd recommend it for Hyakkimaru and Dororo, their demons and a tough journey in which recovering every body part feels like a real victory.
It's a good fit if you're looking for samurai, folklore and a friendship that sheds light on a rather dark story.
Unlike other vendettas against demons, each body part Hyakkimaru recovers breaks the pact that keeps a region prosperous; what is fair to him harms thousands.
