Zagan is a sorcerer feared by everyone and so socially inept that he lives alone in a castle until he falls for the elf Nephelia at an auction and spends his entire fortune to free her. Although neither can express their feelings easily, they try to… build a home while Zagan inherits the title of Archdemon and draws the attention of other mages, the Church, and those seeking Nephy's hidden power.

I'd recommend it because of how cute and clumsy Zagan and Nephy are; seeing them advance a little in their coexistence already feels like a victory.
It's a good fit if you're looking for fantastic romance, gentle humor, and powerful characters with no social skills.
What separates it from other fantasy romances is the contrast: Zagan masters magic, but he doesn't know how to tell Nephy that she is free or ask her to stay because she wants.
