Why it is worth watching
I'd recommend it for its sects, its duels and a protagonist who discovers how much it costs to belong to a world divided between rival paths.
Zhang Xiaofan, who was orphaned overnight, was accepted as a disciple of the Qingyun Sect. After five years of hard cultivation, he excelled in the Seven Meridians Tournament of his discipline and was sent to Mount Kongsang to spy on the movements of… the Demon Sect. During the journey, he and his fellow student Lu Xueqi encountered danger and rescued and befriended the demon cultivator Biyao. However, new dangers are waiting for him in the future.

I'd recommend it for its sects, its duels and a protagonist who discovers how much it costs to belong to a world divided between rival paths.
You'll enjoy it if you're looking for cultivation, romance, spiritual weapons and Chinese fantasy.
What sets it apart from other sect fantasies is that Zhang Xiaofan, an ordinary disciple, practices incompatible techniques and carries a dark artifact that calls into question which side he can stand on.
