The studious Yatora leaves a dry life of study and good manners behind for a new passion: painting. But untethering yourself from all your past expectations is dangerous as well as thrilling…
I'd recommend it because of how well it conveys the desire, frustration and fear of discovering something late that you really want to do.
It's a good fit if you're looking for art, drama, vocation and characters who work hard without guarantees.
What sets it apart from the prodigy artist anime is that Yatora learns from scratch: he studies technique, prepares for demanding exams and must discover what he wants to say before painting beautifully.
More anime like Blue Period, selected by genre, theme and viewing style.
