In the hyperconnected Japan of 2029, Motoko Kusanagi leads a cyborg unit built to anticipate threats that blur the line between crime, politics, and technology. After joining Daisuke Aramaki's team to form Public Security Section 9, their investigati…ons begin to point toward an unidentified hacker known as the Puppet Master, an entity capable of rewriting memories and manipulating people through the network.
I'd recommend it for bringing back the political yet playful pulse of Masamune Shirow's manga with Science SARU's visual energy.
It's for you if you want adult cyberpunk, technological investigations, and questions about identity, consciousness, and control of information.
Unlike the solemn tone of the 1995 film, this adaptation restores the original manga's faster rhythm, humor, and more easygoing version of Motoko.
More anime like THE GHOST IN THE SHELL, selected by genre, theme and viewing style.
