In a Japan with an extremely low birth rate, children are monitored as national resources and Santa Claus is outlawed as a threat. Shiori Fuyumura attacks her classmate Kazushige Sanda because she believes he descends from the real Santa and can find… her missing friend; awakening that transformation draws Sanda into conflict with the authorities and a school concealing what happened to the girl.
You should watch it if you want something really strange: action, humor and a teenage Santa Claus turned into a threat to an entire country.
You'll enjoy it if you're looking for an unusual idea and a criticism of how adults control the lives of young people.
Its big difference is turning Santa Claus into a revolutionary figure: in an aging Japan that controls the few children, giving them back desires and freedom is dangerous.
