I'd recommend it for its mystery, its powers and the relationship between Sheng Lingyuan and Xuan Ji, which carries secrets from thousands of years ago.
You'll enjoy it if you're looking for Chinese urban fantasy, supernatural cases and contained romance.
Unlike other urban supernatural stories, the powers are managed from a modern office and investigator Xuan Ji is very personally tied to an emperor awakened after millennia.
