I'd recommend it for its dialogue, its animation, and the pleasure of watching Oreki find a brilliant answer to a seemingly silly mystery.
It's a good fit if you're looking for everyday mystery, school life, and very subtle romance.
What sets it apart from other detective anime is that it doesn't require murders: a closed door or a souvenir from the festival reveals character because Chitanda asks the exact question.
More anime like Hyouka, selected by genre, theme and viewing style.
