Welcome To the Gridiron of the Damned! Huge hulking bodies throw themselves at each other, while a tiny lithe body runs between them for the goal! No, it’s not a game of football, it’s Sena Kobayakawa trying to evade the monstrous Ha-Ha b…rothers down the halls of Deimon High School! But wait! Sena’s incredible skills at not getting caught have been spotted by the devilish (possibly actually demonic) captain of the school’s embryonic American style football team, and when Sena asks to be the teams manager, he gets thrust onto the field as a running back instead!
I'd recommend it for its matches and for seeing Sena turn the speed with which he fled from bullies into his team's secret weapon.
It's a good fit if you're looking for long sports, humor, tournaments and eccentric companions.
What sets it apart from other sports protagonists is that Sena competes under a helmet and under a false name; first he builds trust as Eyeshield 21 and then he must publicly admit that he was always him.
More anime like Eyeshield 21, selected by genre, theme and viewing style.
